Fall Running Program (8 weeks)

If you’ve been wondering, “What’s next?” after all your summer training and racing, we’ve got the answer.
Beginning Wednesday evening October 15 at 6:00 P.M., Coach Brian “Ziggy” Gillespie offers an eight-week program for runners of all abilities to train for distance base, leg strength, and uphill-downhill running techniques. Leaving from Peak Performance Multisport at 317 Marginal Way, the group will do an easy warm-up and strength workout, followed by a cool-down. Click here for the workout plan.
ALL LEVELS of runners are encouraged to join. This is an individual program in a group context. You will work at your own pace toward your own goals, with the benefit of working with a group. Wear a running vest for safety, as well as a running watch to learn pace.

About Coach Gillespie:
Brian “Ziggy” Gillespie founded the Maine Track Club in 1979 and served as President for three years. He coached the men’s Cross Country team at St. Joseph’s College from 1981–1987, ending with a 146-11 record. His team won the New England Championships four times, and he was named New England Coach of the Year three times. He was inducted into the Maine Running Hall of Fame in 1996. In 1990, he started the highly successful Run to Win Ladies Team. In 2005, Ziggy took over the helm for the Waynflete Varsity Girls Cross Country team, and in 2007 led them to the state championships, where they won the Class C title.
