Running Economy: Mobility & Strength with Coach George Towle

Peak Performance Multisport, 317 Marginal Way
September 9, 2008, 6:00 PM
If you missed the Running Economy session on August 26, be sure not to miss this one! George Towle, the women's cross-country coach at USM, will be back at Peak Performance for Part II of his training on how to enhance your running using improved form and technique.

Tonight, Coach Towle introduces Jim Giroux, who has worked with athletes for 20 years. Coach Giroux is CSCS through the NSCA, FMS certified, USAW club coach and Level 2 Jumps coach through USATF. He was field and hurdles events coach at UMass for 12 years, where he also developed the strength programs for all track & cross country athletes.

Currently Coach Giroux is the Regional Representative for MF Athletic and Perform Better. He designs strength programs for the USM Women's XC and Track program and coaches the women jumpers.

More about Coach George Towle - he is a certified USATF Level II coach with years of experience at both collegiate and high school level coaching, as well as being a competitive runner himself. He regularly visits Kenya's Rift Valley, home of some of the world's finest runners. Coach Towle is the Director of the Maine Coaches Association and has served as Race Director of Portland's Thanksgiving Day Four-Miler for the past 27 years.
