Officials of the Maine Track Club’s all-volunteer Peak Performance Maine Marathon recently distributed more than $283,000 raised by runner fees and sponsors, to charities and athletic programs in Maine and New England.
A check for $35,000 was presented to the Center for Grieving Children by Co-Race Directors Howard Spear and Bob Aube. The Center through its own running program raised an additional $15,000.

Over the last 16 years the annual event has raised more than $2 million for local children’s charities. This year a record number of runners – more than 3,000 – took part in Maine’s largest marathon-half-marathon-relay event, 500 more runners than last year.
Thanks to everybody that help make this year's event benefical to so many people!
